SOAR - Sharing Opportunities Assisting Recovery
Sharing Opportunities Assisting Recovery ( S.O.A.R.) is an organization whose main aim is to assist individuals with their financial needs after a disaster.
Heartache and pain in a tight knit, Californian community was the reason that Sharing Opportunities Assisting Recovery S.O.A.R. was born.
Jacqueline Peterson, formerly from Australia and now a resident of Seminole Springs, is an active member of her community and the founder of S.O.A.R. Although the Woolsey Fire of 2018 took her husband’s family home of over 60 years and many of their treasured belongings, she was fortunate enough to return to her home in Seminole Springs. However, Jacqueline saw first-hand the pain and suffering of individuals whose homes burned to the ground as they tried to find their way to start life all over again.
Jacqueline realized that government and organizational efforts to help are often not enough. When an individual loses everything after a disaster they still have months of unexpected challenges to endure, long after their FEMA and insurance are gone. There is a long road of financial difficulty as they find the means to rebuild their homes. During this time they are juggling payments for alternate accommodation and everyday living expenses while getting their lives and homes back.
S.O.A.R. is here to help!
